The consultation process highlighted that a number of changes were required. Some of the changes include simplification of the language used, a reduction in the number of elements and removal of the duplication that existed between the old surveyor and endorsement frameworks.
One major change has been to the Graduate framework which now requires a Graduate to demonstrate they are progressing to Surveyor registration status. To assist with this the Board has removed the requirement for a Professional Assessment Project (PAP) to be completed for Surveyor registration. A PAP is now only required to be completed when an endorsement is being sought. There are two options for a Surveying Graduate to demonstrate competency against the Surveyor framework either by lodging Career Episode Reports (CER) via the new progressive lodgement scheme or via an interview and presentation of a work portfolio.
The Board proposes to nominate specific dates by which CER’s for progressive lodgement may be submitted. All CER’s submitted by that date will then be assessed and a moderation meeting held to ensure consistency of the assessment process. Interviews will also be held on nominated dates providing candidates with sufficient time for preparation and development of a work portfolio.
