Gregg Purcell

Monday 23 February 2015

It is with deep sadness and a sense of loss that we advise of the sudden passing of one of our current board members, Mr Gregg Purcell.  In 2011 Gregg was appointed as a member of the Surveyors Board of Queensland and was recently reappointed to a further term.   As a board member Gregg exemplified the highest integrity, judgment and commitment to ensuring our profession would be perceived by the public with a high level of confidence.

Gregg demonstrated strong leadership to and pride in his profession, contributing early in his career as chair of the Young Professionals Group.  His contribution as a young professional was recognised in 1996 by his peers with the Young Professional of the Year award.

As a registered Surveyor with consulting and cadastral endorsements, Gregg was recognised within the development industry for his expertise in solving complex surveying and titling matters especially in the areas of community titling.

On behalf of the Board and fellow registrants we express our deepest sympathy to  Gregg’s wife Joanne and children Molly and Laura as well as to his extended family at this time of immense and sudden loss.  We express our support for Gregg’s family and assure them of our thoughts and prayers.  We are grateful for the opportunity to have known Gregg and his profession is richer for the invaluable contribution he made.
