Board Fees
In 2015 the Board made application to the Government seeking a fee increase above the yearly CPI adjustment. This was necessary as the Board had operated at a deficit for the past three years and this could not continue. The government recently approved the fee increases.
The new registration renewal fees are listed below,
Registration Renewal Fees | Current Fee | New Fee |
Surveying Associate | $119.80 | $150.00 |
Surveying Graduate | $129.10 | $165.00 |
Surveyor | $152.50 | $205.00 |
Consulting Surveyor | $231.25 | $250.00 |
Corporation | $689.30 | $875.00 |
The fee increases are moderate, resulting in fees generally cheaper than other state surveyor boards, other professions and voluntary membership of surveying professional associations. The new competency assessment fee has been lowered to $850 and the majority of application fees are now the one consistent fee of $165.00.
The list of new fees is on the Board webpage https://sbq.com.au/registration/schedule-of-fees-2/
Board Website
The Board has just completed a review of the webpage and a number of amendments have been made to remove duplication of content and hence simplify the design and structure of the website. The dual access for the public and surveyors has been removed and information relating to competency assessment and registration has been segregated and re-written. Significant effort was made to reduce the volume of text and to be more concise with the information presented. The competency assessment section has been re-written to more closely align with the issues raised by Surveying Graduates with the Training Advocate.
The search for a surveyor facility is now accessible via a “Find a Surveyor” button in the top right section of the homepage. A search facility has been introduced to help locate specific information and access for mobile devices has been improved.
